For hard surfaces like wood or tiles, a dense felt or rubber pad is recommended. On carpeted floors, a thin, adhesive-free pad prevents shifting. If needed, secure the rug with non-slip tape. In a bedroom, a large rug helps define the sleeping and seating area. Place it centrally under the bed so that all legs rest on the rug.
